Top 12 Most Frequently Asked Questions about Boudoir Photography

The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!

Do you share my images?

My number 1 priority is making sure my clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life-changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking! Sometimes, you are learning to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for your spouse and only their eyes.

These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preference! If there are photos that I’d like to share, I will ask your permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with!

Do I have to wear lingerie?

You definitely don’t have to specifically wear lingerie, it depends on your personality! There are a VARIETY  of outfit ideas other than lacy little things! As soon as you book, you will receive an Outfit Guide to help you choose!

Where should I buy my outfits?

There are a few great places to buy outfits from and it depends on what you are getting and the style of your shoot! Here are a few places to choose from with different style and sizing! adoreme.com, torrid.com, aerie.com, foreveryourslingerie.ca, hipsandcurves.com, honeybirdette.com. If you are looking for something specific and can’t find it, let me know, and I might be able to help you with it. You can find more links to stores in the Outfit Guide!

Do you have payment plans?

We offer a few payment options! There is a booking retainer to book your shoot, and the balance is due 4 days prior to your shoot date. I also offer no-interest payment plans for your products and images.

Is hair and makeup included?

Hair and makeup is included in all our boudoir shoots! I think it’s really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way of doing so! My amazing team can help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this” or Full glam! You can bring any ideas of what you want and we can try to use it for inspiration!

Do you Photoshop my images?

I do edit your images to correct light, exposure, and color balance, as well as to add artistic elements. I will also do some light skin retouching. I want you to look like yourself, just a bit more polished. Boudoir is about accepting yourself and seeing your beauty, so I believe it’s important not to overdo it. We are also skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and bring out your shine.

What type of print products do you have?

We offer a variety of wall art, albums, loose prints, and peep show viewers. My favorite are the albums, I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical print. It’s surreal to see yourself like that! My clients always tell me how happy they are to have something that feels luxurious and beautiful in their hands! I’ve also found that when you have a physical product the images are enjoyed much more often.

Do you offer digitals?

Most of my packages include digitals, and there’s also an A La Carte menu that you can choose from as well! On this menu, we have an option to add on digital images! These digital images come in a locked online gallery, for you to download and share!

I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?

Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you WEREN’T nervous. The nervousness in the beginning of your shoot makes your moment of “WOW” seeing your photos for the first time so much better!

How many outfits should I bring?

This depends on your session. The 1.5 hour session is 2-3 outfits, and the 2 hour session is 3-5! You can always bring more if you aren’t sure and I’ll help you decide at your shoot!

Should I get to my shoot early?

You should always plan to arrive 10 minutes early in case there is traffic that you didn’t anticipate and so we can talk and plan your style for the shoot!

Where is your studio located?

My studio is located in Sarasota, FL in the Gulf Gate area, right off Tamiami Trail.
